Preparing to Come

The Passion Play is a three-hour outdoor event and we suggest you prepare for hot, cold, and wet conditions. It's a good idea to pack a hat, blanket, jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, insect repellent, and rainwear with a hood. Umbrellas and picnic coolers are not permitted as they block sight lines and aisles. Please note that, due to the sensitive acoustics in the amphitheatre, we are unable to accommodate babies and children under the age of six. No photography during the performances – professional photos are available here on our website. The parking lot opens two hours before a performance, and the amphitheatre gates open one hour prior to the performance. We suggest coming 45 minutes to an hour early in order to give yourself time to park, find your seats, and enjoy services like the gift shop and concession.

Venue Information

The amphitheatre has superb acoustics, and the principal spearking roles are amplified to ensure ease of hearing for all guests.

We accept cash, debit, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and AmEx).

Seating

Your seat section, row and number will be on your ticket. Section A is on the left (closest to the main entrance and washrooms) and Section I is on the far right (closest to the crosses), and a centre pathway divides the auditorium between the Green and Blue sections. Seats are tiered, wooden benches with back support and lots of legroom. You're welcome to bring your own cushion for comfort, or purchase one from the Badlands Gift Shop.  All connecting paths are shale or gravel.

Parking

The parking lot opens 2 hours before each performance and is staffed by volunteer attendants who will guide you to your spot. Parking spots for motorcylces and RV's are available, however no overnight parking is permitted.  If you need wheelchair parking, please make sure your sticker is displayed for the attendants. For those needing assistance from the parking lot to the Amphitheatre, golf cart shuttles are available. The cost of parking is already included with your ticket to the Passion Play.

Gift Shop

The Badlands Gift Shop offers a variety of unique souvenirs, textiles, decorations and artwork from local artists.  Forgot to pack something to make your visit the Passion Play more comfortable? No problem. Check here for items like sunglasses, hats, fans, sweaters, insect repellent, blankets, and more!  We accept cash, credit, and debit cards.

Concession

Our concession offers a variety of light meals, snacks, and refreshments and accepts cash, credit, and debit cards. During Intermission cold drinks and frozen treats will be sold from the Amphitheatre, but are cash-only to keep the lines moving quickly.

Water

Bottled water is available from the concession and there are outdoor taps throughout the venue to refill your bottles (look for the blue dots on your map). Water fountains and accessible washrooms are also available on-site.

First Aid

Medical professionals are on hand at every performance to provide first-aid if necessary.  Just look for team members with red t-shirts, or ask one of the ushers for assistance.  Don't forget to stay hydrated and find some shade to help beat the heat!

Off Season

Visitors are welcome on our site when there are no performances, from Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Please check in at the lower ticket office to find out about local hiking trails and attractions.
